Chalkboards in the house

What comes to mind when you hear the words blackboard or chalkboard? I automatically think of school therefore they have become associated with learning and education. I was never a big fan of school no matter what my grades said. When I was in a classroom with no instructors I was automatically drawn to the board. I love to draw and drawing freely on a chalkboard makes you feel like a kid again. I mean, who doesn't want to go back in time when life was easier? Chalkboards can transport you back in time, even if it's just for a little while. Disassociate blackboards with school and more with fun. They can easily enhance your living spaces in many way.

Kids love to express themselves through their art. They draw on everything they can, from paper to themselves to walls. The latter is what most parents dread. What better way to let kids express themselves than with a chalkboard on their wall. This not only lets them draw freely on their wall, but it keeps the walls free of permanently unwanted marks and drawings. This way everyone wins.

Some people don't like the hassle of messing up their walls with screws and nails. An alternate to this are chalk stickers. I fall into this category and it's like these were made especially for me. They simple stick to yours walls and are ready to decorate. No mess, no fuss. Just what I like.

Another great place to add a chalkboard in your living space would be the kitchen. This is an uncomplicated way to add recipes, lists, or notes for others to read. Even if you don't do any of the above, it's a simple way to spice up your kitchen.

If you want to go all out, you can replace all your walls with chalk walls. This way you'll always have a place to jot down your notes or ideas no matter where you're at in your house. Just don't forget your chalk!

For smaller rooms or for a less dramatic way to add a chalkboard to your place is by adding it to your door. This way it won't overpower a room but you'll still have the freedom to jot down notes or ideas. If you don't want to add them to you wall, try one over your door. Maybe one day you'll change your mind and can't imagine living without them!
