Glassine Wax Paper Bag Package

Hey there! As a designer I love arts and crafts, DIY, and packaging. The following tutorial combines all these elements into one easy to follow project. They're not only simple to make but fun and affordable. Along with that, they also add a personal touch to an otherwise standard packaging. This tutorial is going to focus on making glassine wax packaging as seen below.

Here are the supplies and tools you will need in order to make these charming bags. They can be purchased at any arts and crafts store such as Michaels.

Glassine wax paper bag
Masking tape (any color)
Scissors
Clothespin
Twine
2 eyelets
Crop-a-dile tool

STEP 1:
So first thing we want to do is get our gift and set it inside of our glassine wax bag. Then fold a flap about an inch over the top of the bag to secure the gift inside. Last part of this step is to evenly tape the flap down making sure the tape is straight and cut to the edges of the bag.

STEP 2:
Next take the crop-a-dile and punch 2 holes, one on each side of the flap.

STEP 3:
Using the crop-a-dile, bind the eyelets through the holes punched in step 2.

STEP 4:
Now take the twine and pull them through the back of the two eyelets. Make sure the ends of the twine stick out on the front of the bag. This way we can easily tie the clothespin on in front. Make sure the clothespin is tied securely as well as the loose ends.

STEP 5:
Lastly, cut off any unnecessary twine and you are done!

Your package should come out something like this. Now you know the basic steps, try experimenting with different colors and materials for a more specific look tailored to any party or event. There's no such thing as perfect so if you can't get this on the first try, try and try again. Remember to just have fun while making these and focus on their positive outcomes!
